What to Expect
At Harvest, we care about you and one another
God's way. This drives who we are and what we do.
We hope you'll join us for our Sunday worship service to experience this for yourself.
What can I expect when I arrive at Harvest Bible Chapel North Raleigh?
From the parking assistants that greet you to our smiling members at the welcome table, we are all about relationships and want to make it easy for you to feel at home.
What time should I arrive?
The service starts at 10am so arrive by 9:45am. We encourage you to come at least 15 minutes early so you have a chance to get some coffee or tea, meet some new people and get information as you make your way to the worship center.
What should I wear?
Dress as you are most comfortable. While some dress up, many others dress casually. You will see everything from sport coats to jeans.
Do I need to bring anything?
We encourage you to bring your Bible if you have one so you can follow along during the sermon. If not, no problem. We provide Bibles on each row. In fact, if you do not have a Bible at home, please take one of ours with you as a gift from us.
What should I do with my kids?
We have a great Children's Ministry called "Higher Ground" that we encourage you to check out. Your kids will love it!
Is the Children's Ministry safe?
Yes. We take security very seriously. Read more on our Children's Ministry page.
What is a worship service like?
After a quick welcome, we begin our 75-minute service with music which is led by our worship leader and oftentimes an accompanying band. The words of the songs are projected on screen so you can sing along. Then, someone reads the Bible passage for the sermon, prays, and we take an offering (as a visitor, you are under no obligation to give). Next, we open the Word to read Scripture together and Pastor Mike Willis provides the message. We read our Bibles together during the sermon, taking heart as to what God is saying and then learning how to better apply it to our lives.
Great, is the pastor going to yell at me?
No. Pastor Mike preaches for us, from the Bible, not at us. Well, sometimes he preaches at us, but that is really for us. He will deliver a practical, often humorous and always challenging, in-depth Bible sermon that we can and should apply to our daily lives.
Do you have something for my teenagers?
Yes, but Sunday mornings, teens worship with the adults. Harvest Students, our student ministry, meets Sunday nights.
Is this a "fluff" church or a "get serious" church?
A "get serious" church. Jesus wants us to grow as His followers and we delight in this.
Are you judgmental? Because I've been burned by churches before.
No, we all have our own personal issues and we are not here to judge one another. We simply want to help you apply new life to them through Jesus, not mere moralism.
What is it like after the service?
As a visitor, please do not feel like you have to rush out of the door. Help yourself to more coffee or tea, meet Pastor Mike and our leadership staff, say hello to new people or stop and pick up some information at the welcome table. If you wish, we offer prayer at the end of each service with our prayer team.
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
